April 26th 143rd class
Black belt class followed by technique in advanced class. Rolling was quite enough for today, with three seven minute rounds. Rolled with professor Bruno first. He put me in a few situations to see how I react, and even studied an escape I attempted. One of the things I learned from today's roll with him is how he uses his leg to cup around the shoulder for an armbar, instead of the regular armbar. He would then use both his arms and his right leg to stop my spinning free. What I found really weird is that I would think that I'm getting somewhere, but then BAM, he would use that momentum to transition to even a better position. He would do it inch by inch, until side and/or full mount. The difference between a purple and a black belt is extremely clear in my eyes now, as opposed to six months ago.
